Get on DMR
without the radio.

A free app for Android, Windows and Linux. It connects straight to BrandMeister, TGIF and the other DMR networks, so there's no hotspot in between. The audio is real AMBE+2.

Where it's useful

None of these need a radio or a hotspot.

Before you buy a radio

Sit on your local talkgroups for a week and see how much traffic there is before you spend money on a DMR radio and a hotspot.

Travel, work, hotel rooms

Wi-Fi or mobile data is all it needs. Nothing extra goes in the bag, and there's no antenna to hang out of the hotel window.

Backup when the shack's down

If the antenna's down or you're away from the rig for a few days, your phone still gets you into the weekly net.

See it in action

The same app on a PC and on a phone. Use the toggle to see the other one.

Built for DMR

The short version of what it does and what it talks to. The docs have the rest.

PTT Modes

Hold the spacebar to transmit, or bind almost any other key. On Android it can be a volume key or a headset button. Latch mode toggles TX with a tap instead, so nothing needs holding down.

AMBE+2 Vocoder

Real AMBE+2, from the MD-380 firmware running in software emulation. It sounds like a hardware radio because it is the same vocoder.

DMR Talkgroups

Browse and switch between thousands of talkgroups across BrandMeister and other DMR networks. Favorites, search, and live activity indicators.

Rewind + Homebrew

Speaks BrandMeister's Rewind terminal protocol and the open Homebrew (HB) repeater protocol used by Pi-Star, TGIF, ADN Systems, FreeDMR and most other DMR networks. All it asks for is your DMR ID and your hotspot password.

Free to Use

No account, no telemetry, no subscription. Download a release binary and start transmitting.

Cross-Platform

Native binaries for Linux and Windows, plus an Android app on Google Play. The UI and the audio engine are the same on all three.

Questions hams ask

Get on the Air

The setup wizard asks for your DMR ID and hotspot password, then you're on the air. There's no account to create first.

Built in my free time, for the fun of it. Ko-fi is just there if you want to say thanks.
